The AABB Conference is coming up quick – and whether you’re native to the area or coming from somewhere abroad, there is just one thing left on your schedule. That’s right – where you’re going to eat after net-working up an appetite. Instead of wandering the streets only to find yourself picking at cold fast food, we’ve done the taste-testing to bring you the PERFEQTA restaurant guide.

  • Luke’s Kitchen & Bar: If you’re looking for American cuisine with locally sourced vegetables and fruit, this is the place. Burgers and seafood dishes coincide with cauliflower steaks and root beer floats. 
    • Distance from Conference Center: 30 minutes by car
    • Hours: Tuesday-Thursday: 4pm – 10pm and Friday & Saturday: 4pm – 10:30pm
  • Prato:  Located in Orlando’s Winter Park neighborhood, Prato offers Italian dishes with a modern twist: red wine-marinated olives, leek ravioli, peach and fennel salad. Gluten free and vegetarian options are also available.
    • Distance from Conference Center: 30 minutes by car
    • Hours: Monday – Tuesday: 5:30pm – 10 pm; Wednesday – Friday 5:30pm – 11 pm; Saturday 5:30 pm- 11:00 pm and Sunday 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm
  • The Monroe: The best of both worlds, The Monroe swaps from a quaint coffee shop during the day to a modern take on comfort food at night. Burgers, Frito pies, and corn dogs are on the menu along with root beer lattes and house brews. 
    • Distance from Conference Center: 20 minutes by car
    • Hours: Coffee bar Tuesday through Sunday – 9am – 3pm; Dinner Tuesday – Thursday 5pm-10pm; Dinner Friday & Saturday 5pm – 11pm; Saturday Brunch 11 am – 3pm 
  • Hunger Street Tacos: The masterminds in the kitchen come from Guadalajara to create authentic, delicious flavors. If the homemade blue Oaxacan corn tortillas don’t win you over, perhaps the birria “machete” – a giant tortilla rolled in spicy beef stew – just might. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.

    • Hours: Monday – Saturday 11:30 am – 8pm
  • The Ravenous Pig: One of the most famous restaurants in the city, the Pig offers Southern cuisine using Floridian ingredients for brunch and dinner. Since the menu is seasonal, it will change  – currently, it features rock shrimp tacos, dry aged duck crown, and gnocchi a la vodka. 
    • Distance from Conference Center: 25 minutes by car
    • Hours: Tuesday – Thursday 4 pm – 10pm; Friday 4 pm – 11pm; Saturday 11 am – 11pm; Sunday 11 am – 10 pm
  • Sticky Rice Lao Street Food: For traditional foods like chicken laab or pork tapioca dumplings, look no further. Aside from the shareable snacks, noodle bowls boasting any spread of toppings are also available. 
    • Distance from Conference Center: 20 minutes by car
    • Hours:  Daily 11:30 am – 9pm
  • Reyes Mexcaleria: Reyes puts a fun spin on some old favorites: queso fundido served with housemade chorizo verde, and the duck enchiladas with Oaxacan cheese. There are the classics, too, such as chile con pollo and ceviche. Whatever you choose, don’t forget dessert.
    • Distance from Conference Center: 15 minutes by car
    • Hours: Tuesday – Thursday 11 am – 10pm; Friday & Saturday 11 am – 11 pm; Sunday 11 am – 9 pm
  • Kabooki Sushi: With two locations and one of the most renowned and creative sushi chefs in the city, Kabooki is a must. Ingredients are sourced from local waters as well as the Pacific, and ramen is also on the menu. 
    • Distance from Conference Center: Sand Lake location – 10 minutes by car
    • Hours: Daily 5pm – 10 pm
  • Maxine’s on Shine: One of Orlando’s most eccentric restaurants, Maxine’s is home to diner food and eclectic entertainment – and a 2022 Michelin Guide title. From the fried green tomatoes at the top of the menu all the way to the triple chocolate brownie at the bottom, this is the place to get a home-cooked meal without going home. Gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian options are also available.

    • Hours:  Dinner: Wednesday – Saturday, 5pm – 9pm; Brunch: Friday – Sunday 10 am – 3pm
